Robyn E. McDonald, Esq  

Insightful, empathetic, and energetic, Robyn McDonald combines over 30 years of legal, judicial, and mediation experience to offer a proactive focus to alternative dispute resolution.  What sets Robyn apart from other mediators? Her ability to truly listen to each side and allow parties to be heard. Parties, be they individuals or businesses, need to tell their story and at MMG, they have that freedom. Robyn has an instinctual ability to see what’s important to each side; with her forward looking approach to client conflict, she helps create an atmosphere that encourages safe, candid and positive communication of ideas, emotions, and options for resolution.  

Robyn is licensed to practice law in California since 1987, in U.S. District Court (California Eastern, Central Districts since 1987), before the United States Supreme Court since 2011 and has practiced in Colorado since 2007 (Rule 204.1 Single Client Counsel Certification). Mediating since 2008, Ms. McDonald has been consistently recognized by her peers as a top lawyer for over twenty years (Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent® Peer Review Rated Attorney since 1993), top Women Lawyers (Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent® Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers, since 2011) and as a top mediator by her clients (Martindale-Hubbell Preeminent® Client Review Rated Attorney/Mediator since 2009*). She has written a variety of mediation articles: Fly Fishing and the Art of Mediation, Mediation as a Tool for Conflict Resolution in HOAs, The Critical Role of Mediation in Bridging the Access to Justice Gap, Gender Balanced Co-Mediation and Cultural Diversity and Mediation, and has coached a multitude of developing mediators on behalf of the Colorado Bar Association. She is a blogger with Oval Options and Negotiation Guidance Associates, groups dedicated to conflict management; a former columnist for the LittletonGazette, offering insight to conflict resolution and informal comments to those seeking help with disputes, and has been a guest speaker on StepWisdom, and on NPR radio shows dealing with conflict. Since 2008, She has mediated over 2,500 cases including high conflict domestic dispute issues, family matters, personal injury and civil litigation matters, HOA/Homeowner and employment/workplace facilitation

A former Los Angeles County Court Judge pro tempore, former national in-house counsel to a major Japanese insurance company, defense civil litigator, and appellate attorney, Robyn provides a unique understanding of both plaintiff and defense perspectives and goals, while working successfully with clients in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region. She specializes in mediation, arbitration and ADR Strategy services in the areas of Civil Litigation, Domestic and Family/multigenerational Disputes, HOA/Homeowner, Personal Injury/Product Liability and Workplace/Employment.

She is a contract mediator with the Colorado Office of Dispute Resolutionthe Past President and a Professional Member of the Mediation Association of Colorado ("theMAC"), Chair of the Colorado First Judicial District Access to Justice Committee, Director of the First Judicial District Access to Justice Mediation Pilot Project, a member of the Jefferson County Mediation Services Advisory Committee, a volunteer with the Jefferson County Mediation Services Program and a Founding Member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators. She was the recipient of the 2008 Jefferson County Mediator of the Year, the 2009 Divorce and Parenting Mediator of the Year and the 2010 Permanent Protection Order Mediator of the Year Awards. 

Robyn enjoys fly-fishing in her spare time.
